Does anyone have a cheaper RAS solution than putting an 8-port modem card in a 2651 router? Ever since Shiva stopped supporting LanRover my company has been picking these up, but they're a little expensive. I could get away with 4 ports. I know Cisco used to make an access switch that did this, but I think they are EOL.
Thanks,

The 2651 has 2 WIC slots & one NM slot....you can add 2 x WIC-2AM to get 4 analog ports, pricing wise not sure how it works out against the NM-8AM.

The problem is that my WICs are full and I'm looking to save a slot on the 2651s. I'm just looking for a cheap separate box with 2-8 modem ports (without having to set up a server that needs to be managed and plugging a bunch of modems in to it).
Thanks though,
John

I don't think of any other solution. Cisco router will only handle one modem on one physical port.

Strictly for a 2 port solution, I believe a 1700 with a WIC-2AM might be the cheapest solution for you :
