Now we are getting somewhere. You will need to do the password recovery first.
Go to the above link and follow the password recovery for the 2600 series router. This will start to get you where you need to be.

You are not saying what actually happens.

Ok. How does one perform a hard reset to get it back to factory settings?

When you did the "wr erase" and reload, were there still old configurations in the router upon the reboot?
Did you perform a "save" prior to the reboot?
Because if you did, then you saved the running config to the startup config. Do another wr erase and reload. reboot and answer no to the save configuration prompt.

When i attempted the WR erase, it stated Invalid input deteced at the '^' marker.
wr erase
^
is how it is showing the marker.

This may seem like a foolish question but, I gotta know. Are you in the enable mode or the config mode when you are entering these commands?

Completely understandable.
No i am not
When my friend loaned this device to me, he stated he forgot the Enable password and his user id and login....
I have not found a document on how to reset/find the password.

What I can enable password recovery if I can't go to ROMMON mode by Brake, because password recovery function is switched off?

Sergey,
Try the info at this link.

But somehow you are gonna need to get a comm program that will provide you the ability to invoke the 'break' function. You are pretty much stuck until you find a program that will provide you that function.

Then you cannot recovery the router, and it's unusable. The tecniques mentioned in documents you can find on the Internet do not work on all routers, like old ones.
