Implementing Mesh Wireless Network with Catalyst 9105 APs

Hi,

We have a local wireless network of 10 Catalyst APs with an EWC. By itself, just having the other APs join the EWC as subordinates with Capwap does not make it a mesh topology, correct? You have to enable that separately I believe? I saw some info on it, but wasn't clear.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/ewc/17-6/config-guide/ewc_cg_17_6/overview_of_the_controller.html

It says during initial setup to add comma separated values for the mesh capable APs. How do you set it up later on? Also, I take it mesh topology has an advantage in coverage and simplicity of administration in an office building where the APs are evenly distributed?

What are the drawbacks of having it this way? Is it even recommended for just a relatively small internal office setting?

check the requirement and mesh can only work certain models :

Ah, I see, then we don't have that feature on our models. That's okay, we probably don't need it.

From what I'm seeing it is more often used in like outdoor networks with point-to-point bridges and things.
