Is it possible to have more than 2 IP interfaces within the same VLAN, on the same device?
ex.
int vlan 133
ip addr xxxx
ip addr xxxx sec
ip addr xxxx ...
Second question is regarding VLANs:
What kind of VLAN is 133.1 for exaple. Will it be additinal Vlan within the same vlans. Meaning, I can add more Ip interfaces to the same VLAN?
Thanks,

Hello,
the VLAN interface has the same characteristics as a physical interface regarding addressing, that is, you can add secondary addresses just like to a physical interface.
Adding a subinterface to a VLAN, like interface VLAN 3.1 ? To be honest, I have never seen that..

Georg

So, what you are saying is that it is limited to maximum 2 IP addresses per VLAN? I hope this is not truth, cause I am migrating bunch of networks from Lucent based routers that allowed several IP addresses within same VLAN.
You can try the command# int vlan 3.1 and it will work. I am just not sure whould it be separate VLan, or option to allow more IP interfaces within Vlan 3.
Thanks for the help?

Well, I have used secondary address. That gives me an additional IP address, which equals in total of 2. But I need more than two, within the same VLAN. How can I do it?

You can actually have as many as 254 secondary addresses if I remember correctly on one interface.
Hope this helps,
