Hi,
I just got an NM-2FE-2W card i want to use in my cisco 2610 router with IOS Version 12.2(11), my impression has been that all i need to do is slot it in, power up the cisco and up comes the interfaces ready for use...
In this case, i dont get to see the 2 added fast ethernet interfaces that came with the network module at all, even when i do "show interface", (the 2W slots are empty)... am i missing something here or do i need t change or upgrade my IOS? if so, i dont have CCO access, would anyone be kind enough to help me get an IOS... if its not an IOS issue, how can i get these 2 fast ethernet interfaces up... ???
Thanks in Advance
Aj.

My guess would be your current version of IOS does not support the card and you will have to upgrade .

My thinking too, but then again, i would need the upgrade IOS software, could you help me with that???

If Cisco Software Advisor is correct, you can't put this Network Module in a 2610 router. The only Ethernet modules that it will support are NM-1E, NM-4E or NM-16ESW. So it appears it is a hardware compatibility issue.

Looks like i still need cco access higher than the guest access i have to use the Cisco Software Advisor tool, guys please, can someone else confirm that i cant use an NM2FE2W on a 2610 series router...

It is my understanding that the NM-2FE2W will not be supported on the 2600 platforms. IOS upgrade will not help in this case.

According to the cisco, you will need an upgrade to
at least IOS 12.3(10).
