we've had a symptom a couple of times where one switch seems to be going crazy - lights blinking.
other than powering off and hoping the problem goes away is there a Cisco tool that would help or would it be best handled by someone who knows how to use a protocol analyzer?

I would console in first and see whats going on.. Probably seeing too much traffic(loop/broadcast storm)

tnx.
i quickly viewed the article. Nothing really stood out as the method to see the traffic. Is there some functionality in the switch itself? (i have both 3548s and a 2924)

Hi,
first you should look to the log (show log) and the command "show interfaces". Post some of the outputs and we will help you.
