Why is there no authentication on the BWT pages? Isn't that a huge security hole?

I believe this doc will help you lock down the BWT side of the server. You may want to look for an updated version since this is for 6.1/4.1 installs.
Good luck

In SUSE navigate to the vsmc.conf file located here: /usr/BWhttp/conf/http.d/
Just add this to the end
AuthName "Cisco Media Server BWT Pages"
AuthType Basic
AuthUserFile /usr/BWhttpd/etc/.htpasswd
Require valid-user
Using command line you can type:
vi /usr/BWhttp/conf/http.d/vsmc.conf
#
# pressing "i" puts you into "insert mode"
#
i
#
# Add the directory at the end
#
AuthName "Cisco Media Server BWT Pages"
AuthType Basic
AuthUserFile /usr/BWhttpd/etc/.htpasswd
Require valid-user
#
# press esc then ":wq" and hit enter.
#
:wq
