Hi Guys,
I am supporting a client who forgot their admin password for the VSOM, but I can't see a way to reset it in the user guide. Any advise?
Thanks.

Hi Peter,
Do you remember the "localadmin" user password? If yes, then we can reset the "admin" password from CLI. Try to run the below command after logging to CLI:
# sudo sh /usr/BWhttpd/vsom_be/db/resetAdminUser.sh
This will reset the VSOM user's password to the default 'admin'. The user will be prompted to change the password the next time they log in to VSOM.
Kindly try the same and let me know if this works.

Jayesh

Hi Jayesh,
Thanks a lot for your prompt response, much appreciated. I have tried the command but I keep getting an error - ERROR 2002 (HY000): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/usr/BWhttpd/vsom_be/db/mysql.sock' (2) - as attached. Please advise.
Kind regards,
Peter

Hi Jayesh,
I also have another issue. We have both CPAM and VSOM running on VMs at the same site but recently you can't access them using either the web browser or desktop applications, although the IP addresses are pinged successfully. I'm not sure what was changed as it is a client site we are supporting, and they don't know either.
I have attached screenshots of the errors. Any ideas as to what to look at, be it the network, server or firewalls will be very helpful.
Thanks & kind regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,
Looks like the VSOM system is corrupted and we need to look into this through logs and service status to restore the system with minimal data loss.
It's recommended to open a TAC case with us immediately.

Jayesh

Is VSOM still supported by TAC?
