Hi everybody.
Just did a 7.5 to 7.7 upgrade. Must say, it went well and I am very satisfied with the quality and features.
One thing that I would like to find out: what is your experience with the copy process to distribute the upgrade packages? I found this a very slow thing and after more than one day I gave up and it manually.
It cannot be the WAN, since this is quite ok and directly uploading only takes around 20 mins.
This pre-copy feature is neat, especially when you have a lot of media servers. But I really felt in the dark reg. process time and progress info.

I am about to upgrade from 7.6 to 7.7 myself. I have 6 media servers, 1 map and 1 VSM server. Are you saying that when you upload the .zip package to the VSM server and have it distribute the package to the media servers is slow? I was going to pre-load the package on all my servers. I can report back to tell you if it took a while.

Just to answer my own question for future people looking at this post, here are the commands I used to keep track of my servers during the upgrades.
tail -f /usr/BWhttpd/logs/upgraderserver.log (shows activity during the upgrade)
tail -f /usr/BWhttpd/tomcat/logs/catalina.log (shows activity happening on the web interface where the upgrade is taking place) I use it for when the web interface appears to be "hanging" i can still see activity happening and know it's not hung up.

I myself haven't used this process yet. Wanted to see this type of feedback from other first. Thanks :-)
Personally, I still copy the packages manually using each servers VSMC/CDAF interface and also 'tail -f' the upgrade.log file from a

Same here. Go into each VSMC and upload it there.
Good thing I "only" have 7 sites...

Would be nice to hear from somebody of the product team about that.
I vaguely remember that this upgrade process as above described only worked for me once in the pre 7.5 version time.
Thanks for the feedback, guys. I am not alone in this world... :-)

I never knew that it existed prior to your post. Never had any issues just uploading on each site and doing upgrades from there.

Scott, what command do you enter in the console for the tail -f? Or rather, the path, id like to do this too.
