Hello,

I bought a "Cisco 891 Integrated Services Router" and want to update the  soft/firm ware. (when connecting to it it wants to use Java, and those browser plugins are "obsolete".

Where can I find  the software/firmware for updating that router?

thanks,

Ron

Hi,

You can download the ISO from here:

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/282530906/type/280805680/release/15.6.3M5

Keep in mind that it is not a freeware or shareware software. You must have a valid service contract with Cisco to download this IOS.

I think you are trying to access the router through the HHTP or HTTPS (Browser). You can use IE (JAVA required) to access this router.

But I am thinking that it is better to use CLI (Using SSH/Telnet or console services) or you can use the "Cisco Configuration Professional" also.

Hmm  I was not aware of that, how do I get a service contract for that router, and I wonder how many arms and legs that costs.

You have to contact with your local Cisco partner to get a better price on Cisco Contract.

"Any latest version of IE"

I have a laptop around with windows 7, for "stuff" that is only available for windows.  I tried IE in that one,  but it says it is "too new"?

oops,  hit enter too quick...

It seems the web interface is pretty specific about what IE version to use?
