CSR 1000v Unable to License

I'm trying to bring up an evaluation of the CSR 1000v.  I have the license and the router, but when you try to follow the CSL steps there is a command to enable the license the command is missing for the install.  Using version 17.2.1r.

The only command available is the "license smart" not license install

Ok.. so I was able to figure out that version 16.10 and above can only do smart licensing.. the issue now is it appears there is no way to get a smart license eval for version 17.2.1r to work as there doesn't appear to be a way to get an eval license moved to smart licensing..

Thanks.  Were you able to obtain an evaluation license from a Cisco Reseller? I assume that is what they want you to do, for example, if one wants to evaluate AX_5G or Appx_5G?  It is important to be able to get a evaluation to make R&D lab testing to validate the product.
