End of SW support for Routers HW platforms

In Cisco ISR G2 C2900 EOL Notice:

Routers 2900 Series will be "for "End of SW maintenance release date : HW"  by year end.

For an hardware platform, what is the SW maintenance release they are speaking about ?

I understand that this platform will not be listed anymore in the IOS compatibility matrix, but we are still able to load newer IOS version.

does anyone can clarify this point ?

Hi there,

The SW maintenance release are the newer versions of IOS you mention.

After December 9th you can no longer expect cisco to release new software for the platform.

As per my understanding - the device -  End-of-Support Date 31-DEC-2022 Details

the latest verion on this device  "15.7.3M6 MD"

Software support for any bugs related to issues reported to TAC, until the product ends. - make sense ?
