Hi all,
I am currently running a BERT test on an E1 controller. The "show controller e1 bert" command is showing no errors since I started the test (15 minutes ago).
But I found out, that the serial interface associated to that controller is taking massive amounts of errors during the BERT. Here are the current stats:
"7760818 input errors, 464131 CRC, 523691 frame, 1854450 overrun, 0 ignored, 4918547 abort"
There is currently a loop on my circuit which I am testing against. I figured out that the loop is not visibile on the serial during the BERT.
Here are my two questions:
1. Is it normal that the serial interface is taking errors during the BERT, althouth BERT results itself are looking good?
2. Is it a normal behaviour that the loop is not visible on the serial during the BERT?
Would be happy about any help.
Thanks.

Just saw it might better fit under "Service Provider - MPLS" or somewhere over there.
Maybe some moderator can move it there.
Thanks

You can ignore serial interface statistics during BERT tests.
