Hi all,

After upgrading from ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.158-3.M4 to ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.159-3.M9, each time I reload the router it gets stuck in rommon. When I do a powercycle it always boots normally.

Below is the message I see.

mount: /dev/flash: failed to setup loop device: No such file or directory
mount: /dev/bootstrap: failed to setup loop device: No such file or directory
mount: special device /dev/usb does not exist
ERROR: flash device search timed out

I do have this in the running config

boot-start-marker
boot system flash:ir800-universalk9-mz.SPA.159-3.M9
boot-end-marker

Maybe as additional info, I upgraded the software using following command

bundle install flash:ir800-universalk9-bundle.SPA.159-3.M9.bin rom-autoboot delete

Am I missing something

Best Regards,

Guy

Not what went wrong here, you are not able to recognise the Flash :

Try boot from USB stick, Format Flash and load the image to recovery.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

Hi BB,

Thank you for your feedback. Can you explain to me that if we do a power cycle of the router we never have this issue, only when we restart the router using the reload command?

I would understand your explanation if the Flash seemed corrupt and needed a format. But the flash doesn't seem to be corrup as after a power cycle it does boot normally.

Thank you!

Best Regards,

Guy

RMA the router.

While in ROMMON, post the complete output to the command "set".
