License increase Cisco 2901 router backplane Capacity to 500MB

Dear Community Members.,

I have a 2901 router that need to push about 500mb  Data traffic via Its Gigabits Port.

Do I need a License and how can i get one to be able to achieve this/

as @Flavio Miranda , you wont be getting any License the product EOL, may be you need uplift product to latest model and buy higher throughput License.

ISR 4K or future is Cisco 8K Model

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

It isn't licensing even if there were a license available. This is particularly true with routers. Just because it has 2 gigabit ports doesn't mean it can push 2 gigabits worth of throughput. I found another thread that indicates the most this user could push through a 2901 was 400Mb. I don't find that surprising at all.

I don't recall the 2900 ISR series having performance licenses like the 4000 ISR series except possibly for crypto.

I might have some performance info to attach (later) but I also recall the 2900 ISR serious performance is very, very variable based on the traffic, itself, and the router's configuration.

BTW, @Elliot Dierksen correctly points out a common issue with many ISRs, in that they are often incapable of (sustained) wire-rate for their ports.  (NB: often the interface NICs can sustain wire-rate but the ISR's forwarding often cannot.)

Here's the (Cisco) performance info attachments I had in mind:

If you have questions about what they say and the significance, please ask further.  But, you'll see a huge difference between maximum possible throughput and recommended for what bandwidth.
