License on the Cisco 3900 Series router.

Hi Does anyone know if the older 3900 routers require any type of license? Or does it not have any software license restrictions? 

The newer ISR4331 router do require a license sometimes for data transfers larger than 100 mbps.

The Cisco 3900 Series enables deployment in high-speed WAN environments with concurrent services enabled up to 350 Mbps.

Legally, yes, but I don't believe the device has any enforcement like the later ISR 4K series.

Regarding performance, the device isn't performance limited like the later ISR 4K series without their "boost" license.
