I'm replacing a PA-POS-OC3-SM with PA-POS-1OC3 in a flex Wan module (WS-X6582-2PA) in Cisco 6506 using WS-SUP32P-GE PISA.
I have a hard time bringing the "protocol up. the status I see is line up and protocol down. Debug shows (attached) no comunication with the edge router but when i put the older PA (PA-POS-OC3-SM ) back evertything works fine and older PA has been running for many years without the issue.
I'm replacing older PA is becuase this is going EOL. Any thoughts or suggestions. I had opened a TAC case but the TAC engineer added no value.

Correct optics in the card & handoff to the carrier ? bad fiber someplace ?
01-25-2013 03:24 PM
these input/crc errors were only seen when i inserted the card and no errors after that, i have used a brand new fiber all the way to CPE. the disctance was only 8 meter, same goes to optic, tried three different optics but no help. I suspect that there is a compatibility issue
