I am finding confusing information regarding the distance limitations of coax (734, 728, etc.) when using the PA-T3+. I have found the following in documentation:
"The typical maximum distance between stations for T3+ transmissions is up to 450 feet for 734A or equivalent coaxial cable, or up to 225 feet for 728A or equivalent coaxial cable."
The PA T3 port adapter serial interface cable which is a 75-ohm coax cable, connects your router to a T3 serial network. Serial cables conform to EIA/TIA-612 and EIA/TIA-613 specifications. The serial ports on the PA-T3 are considered to be DTE devices. On a single PA-T3, there are 1 or 2 T3 serial ports, each with 2 connectors (Rx and Tx), where you connect the Cisco 75 Ohm coax cable. The coax cable (Cisco part # CAB-ATM-DS3/E3) for the PA-T3 adapter is available only from Cisco Systems; it is NOT available from outside commercial cable vendors. The Cisco PA-T3 75-Ohm coax cable is available only in 10 feet(3.05m) lengths. The typical maximum distance between stations for PA-T3 transmissions is 1300 feet (396m)?
So, is it 450 feet or 1300 feet? If 450 is my max, I have a problem. Any suggestions?
Thanks
