We have a routed point to point link between two cisco layer 3 switches. The network is 10.90.0.4/30 with .5 on one end and .6 on the other end. When the link is plugged in the .5 end shows the 10.90.0.4/30 network as connected via the interface the p2p is on in the routing table but it also shows a 10.70.0.016 network (on the other side of the p2p network) as S (static) via the same interface even though no static route for this network was entered. If the link is pulled this route goes away. How is it learning this route?

Need more information as below :
1. what switch
2. what IOS code
3. show run from both the sides
4. show ip route when you connected each other.
5. show ip interface brief

I DONT 100% SURE BUT
It can be this S static route is add because of ip defualt getaway you use in SW.
Or you have summary use in any IGP run in SW that automatically add S route toward null0.

It would be helpful if you would post the output of show ip route. Also helpful if you would post the current running config, disguising any sensitive information (Public IP, passwords, etc).
