i have a cisco 877 which i use to connect to internet & main office using IPSec tunnel, my ISP gave me a single static IP with a netmask 255.255.255.255, but the router won't accpet it & i had to use /24 instead, and some people suggested i might create a loopback interface & set it with the IP address & then set the ATM interface to be un-numbered, but this cutted me completetly from the internet. so any suggestion? & what problem might arise from this situtation if left as is?, i am already facing problems with the firewall drop legimate traffic but i am not sure if this is the reason or something else.

Hello,
where are you trying to assign the IP address to ? Usually, you can use the dialer interface. Can you post the configuration of your 877 ? Also, what firewall do you have sitting between the router and the Internet ?

GNT
