I have a 1751 router (v12.3) that when I enter the service-module command I have the choice of T1 or t1, is this the same thing or does the uppercase T mean something.

Hi
AFAIK both are same and no differences as such,hv cross cheked with command lookup tool too.
Getting same syntax, options for both T1,t1..
service-module t1 cablelength short
service-module t1 clock source
service-module t1 data-coding
service-module t1 fdl
service-module t1 framing
service-module t1 lbo
service-module t1 linecode
service-module t1 remote-alarm-enable
service-module t1 remote-loopback
service-module t1 timeslots

IOS commands are not case sensitive, unless the keyword is the name of an entity such as ACL, route-map etc

Exactly, which is why it's so wierd that the parser returns this:
Router(config-if)#service-module ?
t1 T1

Unable to verify at the momment but I believe that is a single option, t1 or T1, comprised of the keyword followed by it's definition. If it were two options I believe they would be on seperate lines as such;
t1 (description)
T1 (description)

Ah! I think you're right, so the second T1 is actually a description for the t1 keyword. I've wondered about that for years, makes sense now. It's a pretty lousy description if you ask me. But I think that clears it up.
