VPN as Backup Solution

Hi,

I'm working on a backup solution for our remote sites. We are planning on using a VPN over an Internet connection for our backup link. We run EIGRP at the remotes sites redistributed into eBGP/MPLS cloud for our primary WAN connection and then redistributed back into EIGRP at the headend. Iwas labing this out using a GRE tunnel over the VPN and running EIGRP across the VPN.

Wouldn't be better to run eBGP over the GRE tunnel instead and just increase the weight of the primary link

Hello Pat,

I would agree running bgp over bgp would be indeed a good idea and then you can play with attributes to prefer one path over other.
