More DLSW Ethernet Redundancy stuff

I read the post on DLSW ER, now what if I have a router that is trunked to a switch and have 3 or more VLAN's on the local network. Will the standard config automatically "collect" the mac's from each address?

Does the "dlsw transparent redundancy-enable" command simply go on the main/physical interface on the config? The sub-interfaces just have standard configs?

One other thing...any simple ways for testing if the router is picking up the vlan hosts and putting them into the local cache. (Don't have any "SNA" hosts to connect to..lab environment).

Thanks,

Brett

Hi Brett,

All the DLSw ER configurations need to be under subinterface, which includes "dlsw trans redundancy-enable", "dlsw trans map ..." etc. You can think this way that subinterface has no difference between the normal interface, each subinterface is a standalone interface, it has its own mac/IP address and same functionality as a normal interface.

For the testing part, if you have SNASw image, the simplest way is to configure SNASw to bring up LLC2 connection. DSPU will also work.

Hope this helps
