Nexus 2248 & 2232 - End of Life

This is more of a product availability question. I hope it can be addressed in this forum.

I understand through CISCO website that the 2248TP & 2232PP 10GE are now not being sold anymore and are what seems EOL. Cisco Links below:

I would like to know that:

1. Incase of hardware failure, will CISCO support cover the replacement?

2. What would be the alternative of 2232PP 10GE, though 2248PQ is available but it is QSFP+ uplinks.

I believe you can get a 40 Gbps "break-out" cable if you need your uplink to be 10 Gbps.

Surprisingly the notification for END-OF-SALE has been removed from the webistes for the products. I really wish if someone from CISCO could shed light on these changes.

Just to add to your first question:

When products go EOL they do NOT immediately go to EOS (End of Support) it usually takes a few years

End-of-Life: June 1, 2012

Last Date of Support: HW: March 31, 2018

The difference is 6 years, so even if you see that EOL again you need to know that is just that we will stop selling the hardware but TAC will still support it for a while.

I was aware that the products are supported for few more years even after EOS, however the notice on the website that the product might not be supported, stumped me.

Usually there is another EOL link on the website somewhere on the page, though on this case it was not there.

Thank you for your clarification, it seems that the EOL notice is now removed and we can now consider to order the same.

The Nexus 2232 is not going EOS.. i think it was a documentation error which has been fixed. The model is here to stay
