Hello,

I have a n5k already configured with a fiber san and esx host running cna's.  I'm trying to add another and I just can't get the vfc to come up.  I've posted my config and a couple sho's that I've found through other discussions....

vsan 18 is already up with 3 hosts, I'm trying to add a 4th.  The port in question is eth 1/15, vfc 15.  Status oper is down

Configuration wise, I do not see anything standing out. A vFC will not come up until the host associated with it sends out a FLOGI frame. Make sure your CNA has the appropriate FCOE drivers and is initiating FLOGI. Also  make sure the CNA supports the media type you are using.

Make sure your vlan is in the vlan database and the vsan is in the vsan database.

If you have a qlogic qle 8152, then you need a twinax cable.
