smart transport vs smart call home?

I just spun up the Cisco smart licensing satellite.

the inventory tab has the following text:

For prodcuts which support Smart Transport you must configure the "license smart url" on the product to use the Smart Transport Registration URL (https://Cisco_SSM_OnPrem/SmartTransport) . For legacy products which still use Smart Call Home, you must configure "destination address http" on the product to use the Smart Call Home Registration URL (https://Cisco_SSM_OnPrem/Transportgateway/services/DeviceRequestHandler).

The recommended method is Smart Transport.

i'm assuming this means i can use the Cisco smart licensing satellite as a transport gateway for call home features?

is this simply stating that smart transport is a new mechanism to support smart call home? or that smart call home is legacy now?

Hi Folks,

this is the difference, the smart transport is the new one and the call-home is legacy, both is available since some products dont support the new client "smart transport".
