Hi,
we are using a SSM On-Prem satellite server to manage the Smart Licenses on our network.
I want to upgrade our 8.202008 to 8.202105 so I follow the instructions from the "SSM On-Prem 8 Installation Guide". So I connect to the SSM server over ssh (Putty).
But when I type the copy command as explained in the guide "copy user@<your remote host>:/path/SSM_On-Prem-8-202105-2106091157.sh patches:" I get the following error:
"ssh_dispatch_run_fatal: Connection to x.x.x.x port 22: incorrect signature"
Any idea about the origin of this error?
Thank you.
Thierry
PS: The server hosting the files is a Windows Server running a Solarwinds SFTP server.

copy user@<your remote host>:/path/SSM_On-Prem-8-202105-2106091157.sh patches:" I get the following error:
/path is required accurate path from you taking.
it test SFTP working, just upload and download small files.

Hi BB,
thank you for your answer.
Actually I gave the correct path in the command:
copy ftp@<IP address of my Solarwinds SFTP server>:/SSM/SSM_On-Prem-8-202105-2106091157.sh patches:
I tried to downlad a small file (1KB) with the same error.

I don't want to upload a file to the SFTP server, I want to download a file from the SFTP server to the SSM server.
I need a SFTP server because the SSM uses ssh for the copy (in the previous versions of SSM the command was: scp ....)

I am sure i have tested this, and it works when i did upgrade : ( why i was keen to test upload to confirm you have access to the server)
from my notes here :
>> help copy
Copy files from a source to a destination
Usage: copy <source> <destination>
Examples:
copy prefix:filename user@domain.com:/path
copy user@domain.com:/path/filename prefix:
To list available prefixes, type 'dir'.

Hi BB,
Upload does not work either. Same error message: "..... incorrect signature".

You need to fix this - Looks like SSH key issue - But Look at SFTP Server side you can see more information - if you enabled Logs.
