CSPC error when collecting AP information from WLC

Hello CSPC and SNTC Users.

We are having a problem when collecting the list of Access Points presented in our Wireless LAN Controller 7500 (HA pair with SSO).

The list of Access Points presented both in CSPC as well in SNTC is inconsistent when compared with WLC Access Point List.

In order to show what is going on I will present the results in the following list of attached images.

Pic 00 - CSPC version

Our version of CSPC is 2.6.1.

Pic 01 - SNMP Collection

The collection of SNMP data is ok. Also SSH and Telnet works very well.

Pic 02 and Pic 03 - Error with Chrome and IE

There is an error when we are accessing "Collection Profile Run Summary > Collection Profile Run Data Viewer > Dataset Details > Select Dataset > AIRESPACE-WIRELESS-MIB_bsnAP".

Without this information we cannot see if the APs were successfully collected.

Pic 04 - Successful Dataset

When I am collecting the dataset from the Physical IP Address there is a success notice. But I cannot list this results because of an error generated in Pic 02 and Pic 03.

Pic 05 - Error Dataset

When I am collecting the dataset from the Virtual IP of the HA used by WLC 7500 there are errors and no data appears.

We need help because CSPC was unable to show updated information from a WLC.

Any suggestions ?

Regards,

Hello CSPC and SNTC Users.

This problem was also discussed here:

But the error was not solved. I tried to open the same thread without success.

I don't know about the CSPC error.  Others can chime in and there were suggestions in the other thread about Java version, etc.

For the collection from the VIP, it is possible that the WLC itself doesn't support it.  My recommendation is to open a TAC case because this isn't a CSPC specific issue.  If it fails from doing a regular snmpwalk of .1.3.6.1.4.1.14179.2.2.1.1 outside of CSPC (i.e. unix machine), then it is a device support issue and TAC would be better able to help comment if this is a limitation of the WLC or there is some change needed.   If you do learn something from TAC, please share back here.

Hello Chris.

Many thanks for your help.

When I am performing an SNMPWALK against the WLC as you suggested it works fine.

It seems to me that the CSPC is having an error.

[root@server ~]# snmpwalk -v 2c -c my-secret 10.90.28.50 .1.3.6.1.4.1.14179.2.2.1.1

Regards,

Is that IP the VIP? In your screenshot from CSPC, it shows 2 nodes with the same name (bxt-am-brfa01-wlc-1) unless my eyes are playing tricks on me.  What is the IP associated with the failing one in CSPC?

Hi Chris,

I Added the WLC to CSPC, But i dont see the access Points in managed Devices. i Read it will be visible in SNTC. But is there a way we can see, whether access Points Details are gathered Properly in CSPC?

Hello Safwan,
You can validate some of the raw collected AP data locally on the CSPC UI by selecting the "Collected Data" button -> View Data and selecting your WLC Device and the dataset name "AIRESPACE-WIRELESS-MIB_bsnAP". This will give you a good idea if you captured all the APs which the SNTC Portal can help to process.

If you do not have any Collections showing yet, after discovery of the WLC, you will also need to run a "Collection Profile" job.
Thank you,
Jarrett
