Hi Team,
Have a customer who is currently a SmartNet customer and see a lot of value in setting up a Collector an using the SNTC Portal.
Have a couple of question,
Does the person setting up the account have to be the DA (Designated Administrator) ?
And if they are not the DA can they still run the collector and the connect to the portal to collect inventory and software level etc.?
Also do we have detailed documentation on how the collector work.?

Hello!
The person setting up the collector does not need to be the DA. They do however need to have access to the SNTC portal. Therefore, once the DA is identified and has access to the CSAM tool, they will need to grant access to the portal to the technical resource who is setting up the collector.
Assuming this customer is opting for the self-service option, full instructions can be found here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/12566021/new-smart-net-total-care
If the customer is opting for the Smart Assist option, a Cisco Services Onboarding Manager (SOM) will be assigned upon receipt of the booking, and the SOM will take the customer through the process, starting with a Kick-off call, followed by CSAM training, collector training with a Cisco engineer and finally hands-on portal training.
Thanks!
