Hello everyone,

trying to connect to switch via console.
The switch has a DB9 socket as a console, I connect the serial cable to the PC via a USB adapter. In the PUTTY application, I select the appropriate COM3 port and the console is displayed, but I cannot enter anything. I tried different port speeds. Can someone help me?

I did not install drivers for the adapter, but the cable was detected in the device manager

Ok @ReeQ

Are you sure the original cisco console cable is used ?

Best regards

the cable is not original from cisco

i would suggest to get orginal cable or compatable one - we seen these kind of issues in the community (due to cable errors)

other option you can still configure using Web GUI as i have provided the document above post.

Will any db9 cable fit? Does it have to be original Cisco?

Unfortunately, the switch already has configuration, but I don't have the password
