Dhcp option 82 on SG-300-10 port switch.

Hello,

I have sample lab    dhcp-client  ------- (vlan62) sg-300 switch  (vlan62) ------ dhcp server

When I set on switch :

dhcp relay  : enable

option 82 : enable

dhcp server address: ip of dhcp

When debug packets from client to server, there is no 82 option in dhcp discover packets. I mirror all traffic to

mirror port with wireshark. I can see dhcp packets but without option 82.

Firmware version:

1.0.0.27

Hi Feableee, 1.0.0.27 is the first firmware released for the switch. Please upgrade to the newest and then reset the switch to default setting.

Second, I'm not sure you'd see an option 82 packet since you're in the same vlan, same subnet, etc. There would be no reason to relay within the same subnet and vlan. Additionally the switch is likely in layer 2 where dhcp relay is not needed.

Thanks, I upgraded software to newest 1.3.0.59, then rebooted. After configuring ( only option 82 - no relay agent ) there is still no 82 option in dhcp discover packets.

Wireshark with captured dhcp discover broadcast packet. Dhcp part:

As You can see - there is no 82 option.

All interfaces are trusted (dhcp snooping).

Should I configure anything else to make it work ?

regards,

Did you ever get this working?
