I changed the setting from static to dynamic and the switch froze up. all lights on the panel flashed, when they stopped the system light on the left side continued to flash. I tryied unplugging unit as well as depressing the reset for longer than 30 seconds. Unit still the same.
Any ideas would be great.
Thanks,
Walter

Hi Walter, does it mean the switch is no longer accessible? If you changed the switch to dynamic it should get a DHCP address. Are you able to console the unit?

Hi Walter, try to use a different internet browser or computer and see if that fixes it.

Tom,
It did it again. Looks like it is not completing boot sequence.. Light just blinks, no ports working. Should i delete the flash?

Hi Walter, each time the switch reboots it may get a new IP address if set to dynamic.
To assign a static ip via cli
config t
interface vlan 1
ip address x.x.x.x /x
x.x.x.x = desired IP
/x = mask
/24 is 255.255.255.0
