The DHCP database could not be locked. Please retry the command later

Hello,

I have this error message on my c4507R:

"The DHCP database could not be locked. Please retry the command later"

Since I found out the all commands of dhcp disappeared from running-configuration,

so I just wrote them again and it started working okay.

I searched why it happened, but I couldn't get the answer.

Could you help me out if you have any clue?

(Btw, when the error message popped out, I was doing examination of redundancy supervisor.)

Thank you,

That is a gold star release, so should be ok.  I'm not sure what the issue is.

I've seen this issue before, but not for a very long time.

What supervisors are you running, and what software version on them?

Hi Philip,

Thank you for your reply.

The information is blow:

Supervisor: WS-X45-SUP7L-E=

Version: 03.06.03.E  152-2.E3

regards,

That is a gold star release, so should be ok.  I'm not sure what the issue is.

We also seem to be hitting this bug with our Sup2T on 15.1.2.SY6

Entering the command ip dhcp ping packets 0 gets dhcp working again.

I just had this same issue on my core switch and once I issued the command in config mode everything started running on all cylinders again. Looked odd that all the IP DHCP config disappeared from the running config but once the command was issue everything appeared back int he config just like normal.

Now I just need to figure out what caused this to start in the first place. Something had to occure to get this process to start. Anyone have any ideas?

Brent

I hit the same bug today.
