2960-X Twinax Compatibilty

Dear Support Community,

I'm trying to connect a Core Switch 3850-12XS (running 03.07.03E) with an Access Switch 2960-X (running 15.2(2)E3) using a Twinax Cable CDE2-SFP-1WCX=. Unfortunately the Cable seems to be not Compliant with the 2060-X Uplink Ports (Te1/0/1 and Te1/0/2) --> "%GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR: GBIC in port Te1/0/1 has bad crc"...

But on the 3850-12XS Switch it's recognized and the Port seems to be good.

Is this Twinax Cable generally not Compliant with 2960-X switches or is it only a Firmware issue?

What is the difference with the SFP-H10GB-CU1M Twinax Cable?

sfp+ is only available on certain platforms of 2960s , what model you on ?

SFP and SFP+ Module Slots

The switch has either two or four 1-Gigabit SFP or two 10-Gigabit SFP+ module slots. The slots marked SFP+ support both SFP and SFP+ modules. The SFP slots support only the SFP modules.

So if I understand you mean that I have to order a SFP-H10GB-CU1M= instead of my CDE2-SFP-1WCX= is that right?

Hi Heres the full matrix you can see what will work on both switches just search your platform like 3850 or 2960 and it show them , SFP-H10GB-CU1M=,  this should work on both of them but you have other options as well I don't see that other CDE
