Hi,
We have a 3650 switch and 3850 switch stack configured for high availability. We want to upgrade the 3650 device and 3850 switch stack members individually is this possible? If so, how can this be accomplish I'm thinking for the high availability will have to be removed from the 3650 switch and 3850 switch stack? Not sure on the 3850 switch stack members? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Hello,
what exactly are you trying to accomplish ? You can only upgrade the entire stack. Do you want to remove the stacks altogether and have standalone switches only ?
Clarify what your goal is, what the switches are supposed to do in the end.

You do not need to remove stacking, you can upgrade the stack completely including all the members of the stack switch part of the IOS upgrade process.
what is the version of code running now what is the target version you looking to go ?
Note: Either you remove the stack and upgrade or upgrade the whole stack you need downtime for the device to reboot. so prefer a way to upgrade the whole stack.

What is the exact model of the 3850?
What is the current IOS-XE version they are on and what is the intended version to go to?
Are the switches participating in Unified Access (UA)?

hi,
you just need to transfer the new IOS-XE in the active/master switch.
then use the 'software install' to do the upgrade on the stack/member switch.
