Hi,
We have 4 x 3750's in a stack, with a configured stackmaster (prio 15).
When this stackmaster fails another member becomes master.
When the original master comes back it does not assume the master role again.
Is it possible to 'preempt' this?
Documentation does not mention this possibility.
Thnx!

Hi,
I don't this that's possible.
This is what is stated in the configuration guide - "If a new stack master is elected and the previous stack master becomes available, the previous stack master does not resume its role as stack master."

Hi,
Only a reboot or loosing the new master once the original master is back in the stack will cause it to switch back. Depending on your stacking cable configuration you could recycle the power on the new master, but this will cause some downtime whist the switch boots, but only on that switch. Better than rebooting the whole stack though.
Maybe reload out of hours if it is of concern, but it really doesnt make too much difference which is master.
