We have 50 network closets all with 3750-x switches. Every now and then we receive the following error on switches that have been up and running with no issues for a long time. We have checked the stack cables they are tight and the swiches are no rebooting all switches in this stack have been up for 22 weeks thanks.
%STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 2 has changed to state DOWN
Jun 17 10:17:29: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 2 Switch 3 has changed to state DOWN
Jun 17 10:28:38: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 1 Switch 2 has changed to state UP
Jun 17 10:28:39: %STACKMGR-4-STACK_LINK_CHANGE: Stack Port 2 Switch 3 has changed to state UP

Does this happen to all the switch stacks or only certain ones?
I am assuming you have changed the stacking cables?

Try changing the Stack Cables.
Whats the firmware version running on the switch?

I have changed the stack cables, and it does not happen to all the switches in the stack. The log I posted is from a 6 swtich stack.
I also have 2 switch stacks that it happens to also.

I have one stack with the following output.

4 54 WS-C3750X-48P 15.0(1)SE3 C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M

6 54 WS-C3750X-48P 15.0(1)SE3 C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M
I also have a 2 switch stack with the same issue

During the stacking dropping and adding is there any impact to the users?
I have seen a lot of weird issues with the 3750X IOS that has a lot of bugs but nothing service impacting. For instance, almost from day 1 there is a CPU issue that shows the HULC LED process at 20%, and the total cpu processor around 40% utilization. This is a known bug in the code that they have not fixed in at least 3 versions that I know of.
I am not suggesting it is a bug but I would not be suprised to find out that it is not service impacting and mearly a cosmetic issue (bug) in the code.

Correct, there is no service impact to users on the stack.

I am sure you already saw this page, but if not here is a good link that discusses the stackwise issues you have shown here.
There are some good steps to try as well as some good commands for verification.

Hi,
I Could see there are two images installed on two different stack and sorry to say that they are not pretty good IOS.
54 WS-C3750X-48P 15.0(1)SE3 C3750E-UNIVERSALK9-M
1 52 WS-C3750-48TS 12.2(25)SEA C3750-I9K91-M
Hence action plan straight away would be to upgrade/downgrade the firmware to12.2(55)SE7 to avoid and get many problem resolved.

Well, I am all tapped out. The last thing I found was this link

Sounds like the logging notification is the same but maybe not the same scenario you are experiencing.
