Good morning,
I was working on getting two different switch stacks connected using a twinax cable from Startech: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-Compliant-Direct-Attach-Twinax-Cable/dp/B0781VC664/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=startech+sfp+twinax&qid=1574353695&s=electronics&sr=1-5
However, one switch isn't recognizing the SFP in either of the 10G ports that I've plugged it into. It just shows up as "Not Present" but the ports work with a different connection from another switch.
I've checked to make sure the port isn't err-disabled and even used the "no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid" command. Any other ideas or is there some kind of compatibility issue I'm not aware of?

I managed to get the cable working by updating to 15.2(4)E9. Soon as the new image was loaded the connections came up from the twinax cable between the two switches.

Hi,
Is the nonworking switch using the same version of IOS as the working one?
Also, not every 3rd party products work with Cisco switches.
I use this site and their products works well with Cisco.

Yes, they are the same IOS versions.

OK, than may want to try a different cable, if not get one from a different vendor and try again.

I had found the transceiver under the Cisco optics compatibility matrix: https://tmgmatrix.cisco.com/?si=3750&os=48 PID is sfp-h10gb-acu10m but I have an older IOS version than what's recommended. I upgraded the stack and now the SFP is showing up under inventory and not as "Not Present". Going to update the other stack and see if that'll make the cable work..
