Hi!
We are implementing a project with the new Catalyst 6807-XL switches and 40G CFP-40G-SR4 optics inserted in the WS-X6904-40G linecards.
We've tested conectivity between two 40G CFP optics using a MMF OM4 50 microns MPO-MPO jumper and the test was unsuccessful, The electronics seem to be working all right, so we suppose it's a problem with the jumper.
Have you had any experience regarding this 40G optics conectivity?
Thanks & regards!

We are experiencing the same exact problem. Did you ever receive a resolution to this issue?
Thanks

Yes vgallo, indeed it was the jumper.
To interconnect two 40G CFP optics, you have to have crossover MPO-MPO jumpers.
LC/SC jumpers can be "twisted" onsite to make them crossover, but 40G jumpers can't, because their CFP form factor doesn't allow you to do so. You have to get the MPO-MPO manufactured in a crossover fashion.
There are also some more complex matrix to make this inversion of Rx/Tx using MPO-MPO straighthrough jumpers, but the easy way out is to buy crossover MPO-MPO jumpers.
Hope it helps
