Hi there!
1. All 4500's require a SUPervisor. Essentially SUP's are the brains and the muscle of the 4500 range. That is, it provides the switching logic and the connections between all the ports.
In the 4503, SLOT1 is reserved for the SUP.
A good start is:

2. The number of ports that can be utilised for PoE on a 3560 depends on the model and power requirements of the device your connecting.
