6800ia telnet ssh access

Does anyone know if it's possible to telnet to a 6800ia directly?

Specifically I need to do a show inventory to get the SN of the SPF+ modules.

You can do this from the console but not sure how to do it from the 6880

Can we perform telnet on 6800IA switch in standalone mode as we can configure telnet through command line. Please confirm!

You can also use "attach fex xxx" to attach to that fex and manage the switch directly. The password is "cisco" all lower case.

If all you want is to run a command on that switch then "remote command fex xxx command-string" is also helpful without having to login to the device.
