I have an issue with a 7206vxr that is booting into setup mode because it cannot find a configuration. The config register is set good at 2102 but it boots into setup mode on restart. I can put a configuration on it and it will run fine from running-config. the dir nvram: command shows a startup configuration and the dir bootflash: reveals the ios file fine. The dir slot0: reveals nothing however. It reads device not ready. This is the case even through it has a pcmcia flash card in the slot. It seems like it should have enough to boot up between the bootflash and nvram however. Is there a missing piece here? Should there be an ios or config on the pcmcia flash? Either by necessity or good practice?
