Dear community,
I have the following ports on the 9606R as show below. From the SVL configurations, its supposed to be done on the supervisor engine but I don't know which ports to use, kindly advise. Also, For 9500 can the 10G access ports be used for SVL setup?

@isaaco001 : You have 2 ports on the C9600-SUP-1, so use both ports for SVL.
C9606R: Slots 3 and 4 only (redundant supervisor engines supported). The primary supervisor engine can be installed in either slot

@isaaco001 : The Supervisor Module provides two management ports, 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ-45 port and 10G SFP+ port. The RJ-45 and SFP+ management ports provide out-of-band (OOB) Ethernet network connectivity, which enables you to use the CLI to manage the switch using its IP address

Inderdeeps,
Thanks for the response but am afraid I don't understand them clearly. To paraphrase, which ports on the supervisor module of the 9606R would you use for SVL link?
Apologies, am really trying to understand your recommendation but its not just clear to me.
Regards.
Isaac.

Hi,
You can use a couple of 10Gig ports for SVL. 2 10Gig for SVL on the Sup is more than enough.
In a Cisco StackWise Virtual solution, QSA along with 10G interfaces can be used as data ports and SVL or DAD links.
In a Cisco StackWise Virtual solution, QSA along with 1G interfaces can be used as data ports and DAD links. SVL links are not supported on 1G interfaces.

Reza,
Thanks for your response but your recommendations are not clear. The 9606R has one 10G SFP port for management and 1G etherport port for management also. The rest of the ports on the supervisor are console ports. So which one would be used for SVL links?
Regards,
Isaac.
