ASR1001-X ping issue

Hello,

I have a Cisco Router ASR1001-X IOS 16.06.07 connected to a switch using SFP module and copper cable.

All was fine but 3 days ago during a check task I have seen that the routeur doesn't respond to ping on the IP address configured on this interface.

I have reloaded the router, unplug then plug the SFP module, force the speed and duplex on the interface but the problem is still there.

The switch, where the router is connected to, doesn't see mac address on the port connected to the router.

When the port is shut at one end, the other end goes down. Same when I unpluge the SFP module or the câble.

This interface is configured as 802.1Q encapsuled.

I configured it as access interface but the problem was still there.

I have lot of output errors when I run a show interface and no packets sent ou received

Hello,

that sounds like a physical (cabling ?) problem. What switch is connected on that port ?

Hello,

The router is connected to à Dell S3048 switch.

I have a case openned with Dell technical support. They have approuved the switch configuration.

I think that the problems comes from the router because of  569 output errors on the interface that I can't explane.

Many thanks.

Hello
Default the interface and and do not hardcode the speed-duplex setting, if that doesnt work, create a sub-interface and test it, lasty try anoher physcal port and copper sfp

Also check the module card for errors.

sh platform diag

Hello Paul,

Thanks for your help.

I have already tested default interface, and creat a sub-interface. It didn't solve the problem.

I'm not near the router but in couple of days I'll try to change the SFP module.

The Output errors on the interface is strange.

I have 2 interfaces that have the same problem. Its' strange too.

Reghards.

Hello! I also have this issue with a ASR1001-X

I have uplink but I get output errors.

Have tried unplugging SFP, restart but same issue remains.

Tried different SFP's as well.

Any other ideas we can try?
