C3850 24XS Power problem

Hi all,

I have two c3850 24XS with stack, after the switch boot says the switch two don't have a stack software updated and i did auto upgrade and they pick the software from the switch one. Now the stack working perfect, after some time I unplugged the power from switch 2(member) to boot standalone without stack.

Switch one (previous master) boot normally but switch two(previous member) doesn't boot no light blink on front of the switch. When I reconnect the stack cables the switch two boot and the light start blink.

How can I boot both switch standalone without stack, there is any configuration I have to do?

Please help!!!

Maybe switch 2 doesn't have a power supply installed (or the power supply is inadequately powered).

Hi Leo,

Thanks for your reply, The power supply it is OK and all fun on the switch appear green on the back.

Ehhhh, what????

Can you explain what you mean by "reconnect the stack cables"?

Mean that when I remove both stack data and power the previous standby switch not boot it self, no power, no light in front only the fan light on the back are blink green.

But when I plug back the stack data and power cables, and plug the power back on both switch the switch boot normally. seems like the standby switch need the active switch to start.

When both switches are stacked and powered up, what is the output of:

sh env power all

sh power-stack detail

If the individual switches had power and the stacking cable was CONNECTED, the entire stack will reboot. This is not a bug. This is by design.

I'm stack here now, any idea?
