Can only Access SG500X if my Gateway is Blank.

Hello!

I have an SG500X that hosts a 192.168.5.0 Subnet and all is fine but no IP on that subnet can access the switch, 192.168.5.1, if the Gateway is enabled.. I can only access the GUI with GW blank.

Is this missing a config or was it designed for this?

Hi,

Not familiar with that platform but configuring the gateway is only needed if you are trying to access the switch's IP (192.168.5.1) from a different subnet. That said, having a gateway on the switch should not break anything unless there is a bug in the OS you are running.

Just want to specify the GW on my Windows PC.. 192.168.5.9 is my Windows. If I https://192.168.5.1 it will not connect but in Windows if I disable GW and leave blank, I can connect https://192.168.5.1. Unless that too was what you were referring.
