Cannot configure ip helper on multilayer switch (packet tracer)

Hi,

I'm working on packet tracer with this network :

All the PCs are on the same vlan (vlan 100) and my DHCP server has an IP on another vlan (vlan 500).

I've made an interface for each vlan on my multilayer switch and now i'd like to configure an ip helper for my clients (vlan 100).

But when I try it, the command doesn't exist :

I don't understand what I am doing wrong.

Any ideas ?

Hi,

Could you show us the resulte from entering the command ( sh run int vlan 100 ). I guss you forgot to add ip address to vlan100.

I started packet tracer to try this out. Worked for me without having to add an IP address first:

2960 Switch, 3560 24PS switch and a Cisco 2621 router worked fine.

Which version of packet tracer are you using and what switch version?

It might be your version of Packer Tracer, I use 6.2.0.0052 student edition and when I start up an 3560-24PS switch as you did:
Switch>en
Switch#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Switch(config)#int vlan 1
Switch(config-if)#ip he
Switch(config-if)#ip he?
hello-interval helper-address
Switch(config-if)#ip help
Switch(config-if)#ip helper-address ?
A.B.C.D IP destination address
