Hi,

I'm trying to config the load-balancing mechanism for a port-channel on a Cat 1000 switch however it doesn't recognise the command

port-channel load-balance src-dst-ip

WAN-site-sw-A(config)#port-channel ?
auto LACP auto for the system

Any idea?

Might not be supported with your IOS versions and/or licensed feature set.

What IOS version are you running and with what licenses?

Software is the latest i believe; 15.2(7)E2

Not sure on the license, its a C1000-24P-4G-L

Hi,

What is the output of "sh etherchannel load-balance"?

HTH

SW-A#show etherchannel load-balance

EtherChannel Load-Balancing Addresses Used Per-Protocol:
Non-IP: Source XOR Destination MAC address
IPv4: Combination of both SRC-DST-MAC and SRC-DST-IP
IPv6: Combination of both SRC-DST-MAC and SRC-DST-IP

Presumably, it is automatically doing load-balancing?

"Presumably, it is automatically doing load-balancing?"

That's unclear as in the reference Balaji provided we find "You also must set the load-distribution method to source-based distribution, so that any given source MAC address is always sent on the same physical port." although I didn't see a way to set the method, and it appears there's no additional choices. (Src balancing, as shown by your show command, can be fine for many-to-one, but no good for one-to-many. When no good, you still have redundancy.)
