cat2960-S randomly rebooting

My cisco cat 2960-S keeps on rebooting.

can anyone help how to troubleshoot/ or what is the possible cause of this?

Post the output to the following commands:

1.  sh version; and

2.  sh post

Hi Leo,

and I think its config is change because I cant connect to its redundant sw. But Im sure I did save the config. Is it Malfunctioning?

Its been 7+ weeks since the sw is on prod.

FYI this SW is in remote Site ..Far away Site

another thing the config change is on the trunk port to another sw (specifically from that port only)..it change from "sw tr allowed vlan 888" to no config.

The output to the command "sh version" shows the switch was powered on.

Have you checked that the power source is stable?

Still checking on that.

I used "sh logging onboard summary" and saw that it had been rebooting 39 times with reset reason 0x0. Fyi it has no ntp server so the timestamp is same. Also it has no prob with env temp

What do you think?

   Run a "show tech"  thru the output interpreter and see if anything pops up .  That is supposed to be a fairly stable OS version .

What should i expect to see in sh tech to know if it is ok?

   It will list out any known issues or possibly bugs with the code if it sees any .

this post is 9 years old. Are you having the exact same problem, with the same switch ? Can you post the relevant output (sh ver/sh post) ?
