Hi there,
Thanks for reading!
What's your opinion/experience/thoughts on the Catalyst 1000 platform?
I have a VERY small branch where I'm thinking to deploy 16 GigE ports with PoE. Sixteen ports gives the branch room to grow (right now, they have 6 ports in use). Single PSU is acceptable too.
Thanks,
Bob

Its start-up model of Catalyst. if you looking only at Layer 2 some basic Layer 3 is the best product to go. (both cost and performance-wise) - like any old HUB or replace old non-managed switches.
if you looking more than that, Look for Cat 9200 / Cat 9300

Catalyst 1000 still runs on the proven classic IOS. This means the OS is more stable.
This also means the platform does-not-and-will-not support Smart Licensing.
The price point is ideal for small-to-medium and set-and-forget network.
By the way, no need to pay hardware maintenance because Enhanced Limited Lifetime Warranty (E-LLW).
